This report encompasses the results of questionnaire survey analysis dedicated to the problems of the impact of the global economic crisis on external labour migration, migrant remittances, employment, unemployment, consumption, incomes, and so forth. In this analysis of more than 1200 surveys and interviews, it was found that migration manifested improvement in migrants' capabilities and adaptation not only in market economy conditions, but also in the crisis situation. In particular, it became clear that labour migration led to a significant growth in the populations' entrepreneurial potential and to the widening of their socio-economic views. Respondents expressed their attitude towards the socio-economic situation in the country, and the opportunities and serious restrictions, which their households encountered in terms of actions for improving material well-being. |
